Pet homelessness and over-population is a growing problem. As many as three thousand dogs and cats are born in the United States every hour. There are 45 cats and dogs for every one person born. Only one out of 10 dogs born ever find a permanent home. Only one out of 12 cats born ever find a permanent home. 800 dogs and cats are destroyed each HOUR in the U.S. because there are not enough homes for them! And every year in the US alone, approximately 7.6 million cats and dogs are euthanized. Rescue Cats is here for this reason. We are a non-profit, no-kill organization providing temporary care for orphaned and owner released kittens and housecats. Please, no feral (unsocialized) cats. A safe indoor shelter, veterinary care, food/water & lots of love is given to each animal until a suitable home with a loving family can be found. Spaying and neutering & educating the public about the proper treatment of animals is our main focus. We are a limited-access facility; when one kitten or cat is adopted, another is taken in. Kittens and cats are not put to sleep unless they are too ill or injured to recover. Adoption fees, relinquishment fees and private donations are our only source of revenue to support the cats. For us to continue to serve the needs of our community we need your help to purchase land and a facility zoned for animal rescue. We have located this property and are raising money to purchase it. Your magazine subscription helps us greatly and we appreciate your support! With kind regards, Chassie Hall RescueCats, Inc.
